Benny Banks - Patiently Waiting Vol. 1

Benny Banks is a name which is circling around the UK rap scene and for me he has always been somebody with a lot of potential but yet to show the proof.
Yesterday, Banks released his mixtape 'Patiently Waiting Vol. 1' and I listened to it from start to finish and can honestly say it was an excellent tape.

The production is very good and the numerous features don't let Benny down which is the case for so many artists who choose to add a lot of features to their albums and mixtapes.

In an interview with MTV UK Benny stated, when asked about the mixtape:

I’m trying to give them more emotion, rather than gas. I’m still talking about the same type of things, but I’m coming from the emotional side of things...

He certainly does that, each track is just as heartfelt as the previous one and the message genuinely does transmit to the listener. What impressed me more was the abundance of hooks which were well thought out and catchy, something which the majority of UK artists struggle to do so often. The verses have depth and the lyrical flavour is present, this really is a big mixtape for Banks to drop.
